It can be categorized into three basic paradigms: digital manufacturing, digital-networked manufacturing, and new-generation intelligent manufacturing. New-generation intelligent manufacturing represents an indepth integration of new-generation artificial intelligence (AI) technology and advanced manufacturing technology. It runs through every link in the full life-cycle of design, production, product, and service. The concept also relates to the optimization and integration of corresponding systems; the continuous improvement of enterprises' product quality, performance, and service levels; and reduction in resources consumption. New-generation intelligent manufacturing acts as the core driving force of the new industrial revolution and will continue to be the main pathway for the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry in the decades to come. Human-cyber-physical systems (HCPSs) reveal the technological mechanisms of new-generation intelligent manufacturing and can effectively guide related theoretical research and engineering practice. Given the sequential development, cross interaction, and iterative upgrading characteristics of the three basic paradigms of intelligent manufacturing, a technology roadmap for "parallel promotion and integrated development" should be developed in order to drive forward the intelligent transformation of the manufacturing industry in China. This underlines the need for a collective, wide-ranging and inclusive process of reflection and dialogue, a dialogue that focuses on the values around which we want to organise society and on the role that technologies should play in it. This statement calls for the launch of a process that would pave the way towards a common, internationally recognised ethical and legal framework for the design, production, use and governance of artificial intelligence, robotics, and ‘autonomous’ systems. The statement also proposes a set of fundamental ethical principles, based on the values laid down in the EU Treaties and the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights, that can guide its development.

简介:数字时代已然来临,根据工信部直属研究机构日前发布的报告显示,2017 年,中国数字经济规模达27.2 万亿元,占国内生产总值(GDP)比重达到32.9%,其中数字经济融合部分,即传统产业通过应用数字技术所实现的生产效率和质量提升,已经占到整个数字经济的77.2%。转型的最大的驱动在于,在中国依靠低成本人力作为竞争优势的企业正急剧减少甚至消失,而这样的企业在几十年前在中国占有绝对优势。当下企业负责人已经意识到,若想迎头赶上只有从提高效率入手并快速淘汰低效的管理、生产和销售方式。麦肯锡调查报告显示,只有57%的中国企业对工业4.0做好了充分的准备,远低于美国(71%)和德国(68%)。仅有6%的中国企业制定了明确 的实施路径,远低于美、德、日企业(22%22%31%)。数字化转型非一朝一夕之功,包含领导作用、团队、全员参与、规划、实施、沟通等各要素,最重要的是变革决心。信息系统建设过程企业流程再造、业务标准化、数据标准化的过程,会对原有习惯和文化造成很大冲突,牵扯到各部门指责职能的变化。

标题:Review of vision-based safety systems for human-robot collaboration

简介:Safety in human-robot collaborative manufacturing is ensured by various types of safety systems that help to avoid collisions and limit impact forces to the acceptable level in a case of collisions. Recently, active vision-based safety systems have gained momentum due to their affordable price (e.g. off-the-shelf RGB or depth cameras and projectors), flexible installation and easy tailoring. However, these systems have not been widely adopted and standardized. The vision-based commercial products can only be found in a limited number. In this work, we review the recent methods in vision-based technologies applied in human-robot interaction and/or collaboration scenarios, and provide a technology analysis of these. The aim of this review is to provide a comparative analysis of the current readiness level of vision based safety systems for industrial requirements and highlight the important components that are missing. The factors that are analysed as such are use case flexibility, system speed and level of collaboration.

标题:Lightweight optimization of the side structure of automobile body using combined grey relational and principal component analysis

简介:In this paper, the side structure of the automobile body, as the main assembly to withstand the impact force in side collision, is taken as the research object for multi-objective lightweight optimization. First, finite element analysis (FEA) models of the basic NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) performance of the automobile body and the crashworthiness performance of the vehicle are respectively constructed and validated by actual experiments, through which lightweight controlling quotas are extracted. Second, contribution analysis is employed to determine the final parts for lightweight optimization considering both discrete material variables and continuous thickness variables. Third, design of experiment (DoE) based on Optimal Latin Hypercube Sampling (OLHS) method is performed, considering the total mass, the bending stiffness and the torsional stiffness of the automobile body, the maximum impact acceleration at lower end of the B-pillar and the total material cost of the selected optimization parts as five objective functions. On this basis, the combination of thickness-material parameters of the optimization parts is optimized based on Grey Relational Analysis (GRA), and the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) is applied to evaluate the weighting values corresponding to various o10-bjective functions. Meanwhile, a comparison between GRA and Technique for Order Preference \y Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) is conducted to illustrate the unique merits of GRA in multi-objective lightweight optimization of the side structure of the automobile body. Finally, the effectiveness of the lightweight optimization is demonstrated by the comparison between the initial design and the optimal design. The results indicate that the total mass of the automobile body is reduced by 4.54 Kg while other mechanical performance of the automobile body are basically well guaranteed. In the proposal, the data was first preprocessed using the Noise Clustering algorithm. This permits to eliminate outliers and reduce the confusion as a first part of the classification process. Secondly, the Kernel Fuzzy C-means algorithm was used to achieve greater separability among the classes, and reduce the classification errors. The proposed approach was validated using the nonlinear continuous stirred-tank reactor benchmark problem. The results obtained indicate the feasibility of the proposal.

In future, the country needs to provide better post-service opportunities to aerospace medicine specialists. This, in turn, will attract bright young minds to the specialty. 简介:A new method for geothermal exploitation from hot dry rocks by recycling heat transmission fluid in a horizontal well via a closed loop is proposed, in which the costly and complex hydro-fracturing can be avoided. In this paper, numerical simulation models were established to calculate the heat mining rate for the new technology to assess its technical and economic feasibility. Sensitivity studies were performed to analyze the effects of various parameters on heat mining rate, including the injection rate, the horizontal segment length and the thermal conductivity of the tubing. The results show that a high heat mining rate over 1.7 MW can be obtained using a 3000 m long horizontal well to extract geothermal energy from a typical hot dry rock of 235 degrees C with a water circulation rate of 432 m(3)/d. For low temperature geothermal reservoirs, higher injection rate, longer horizontal wells and better thermal insulation of tubing can be applied to increase the heat mining rate. The cost of geothermal power generation using a single horizontal well is estimated as 0.122 $/kWh, and this could be further reduced to 0.084 $/kWh when the multi-branch horizontal well pattern was adopted, slightly lower than a fractured vertical well case.

简介: The basic concept described in this paper is the application that enables to generate technological data for machine design series of types. The data is generated in the traditional form (operation and instruction sheets) and codes for numerically controlled machine tools. The model of transformation is based on the developed theory of technological similarity using relational databases. The theory of similarity is based on the theory of physical similarity (Gendarz, 2002; Rz?siński, 2015). The model in the theory of similarity of construction and technology is the construction and technology standard. An elaborated program based on the theory of construction and technological similarities supports the process of creating technological documentation. It is also possible to generate the numerical control (NC) code for the numerically controlled machine tools.

简介:Last week, Massachusetts celebrated the grand opening of the UMass Lowell Fabric Discovery Center, an advanced manufacturing research and development center that will focus on innovation in textile and electronic integration, aiming to advance and integrate technologies from three Manufacturing USA institutes: NextFlex, AFFOA (Advanced Functional Fabrics of America), and ARM (Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing). The center is in the same building that also houses the Massachusetts Medical Device Development Center and the New England Robotics Validation and Experimentation (NERVE) Center, which is also linked with ARM. The state had previously announced a $10M grant to create this center.
