简介:The Guideline Sensors for Industrie 4.0 supports users and manufacturers of sensor systems in developing cost-efficient sensor systems. It is now available in English. Sensors play a central role in implementing Industrie 4.0 since they are the connecting elements between the digital and the real world. Yet, the costs of the suitable sensor technology often hamper implementing technological innovations in machinery and plant engineering. The “Guideline Sensors for Industrie 4.0” pursues the objective of indicating levers and options to lower sensor costs for users and manufacturers of sensor systems. Sensor users are hence supported in the early development and evaluation process of their own application with guiding questions and assisting tool boxes. The way shall thus be paved for a cost-oriented requirements definition as well as the application of cost-efficient sensor technology.

标题:Smart Manufacturing Execution Systems for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises

摘要:Manufacturing Execution System (MES) plays an important role in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for their daily production operations. SMEs’ businesses traditionally rely on paper based system of operations. With the rapid increase in technology, it is almost guaranteed that this will be replaced by more efficient and reliable smart MES. This paper presents a RFID enabled real-time manufacturing system which will incorporate five functions. These five functions will be integrated into an android based interface which reads and writes data to a cloud based database in real time. NFC technology is also utilized to improve the ease of use. This aims to promote communication within a company, improve product quality, optimize data storage and reduce paper waste. A case study demonstrates the feasibility and practicality of the designed and developed system.

This paper specifies and highlights how manufacturing services and digital twin are converged together and the various components of digital twin are used by manufacturers in the form of services.

摘要:This paper introduces software-defined control (SDC) as a framework that enables integrated and programmatic management of smart manufacturing systems. SDC consolidates information from the production and enterprise levels in a central controller that monitors performance and detects changing conditions. The integrated view of the system provided by the central controller supports the development of applications, which supply the central controller with new information and reconfiguration recommendations. SDC is designed to be scalable and compatible with current automation technologies. A simulation shows that the incorporation of plant-floor information in management decisions, as supported by SDC, has the potential to improve profitability.

HP (IW 500/23) is unveiling the Metal Jet printer, and some early customers, at a manufacturing trade show (IMTS 2018) in Chicago on Monday. Engineering firm GKN Plc is using the printers in its factories to produce parts for companies including Volkswagen AG, one of the biggest automakers. GKN makes more than 3 billion components a year and expects to print millions of production-grade HP Metal Jet parts for customers as early as next year, HP said in a statement.
