【标题】Robotic Rotational Molding Creates New Opportunities for Military and Aerospace Applications

【摘要】 Innovative robotic rotational molding technology allows for the use of new materials in manufacturing parts and hard cases for military and aerospace applications. This is creating opportunities for new product geometries, tighter tolerances, and less waste than traditional plastic molding. There are thousands of applications within the aerospace and defense industries using plastic parts and storage containers. Today, the production of specialized parts and protective hard cases for military applications can call for unique materials to meet more stringent standards (flammability, high heat/cold tolerances, airtightness, watertightness, electromagnetic interference shielding, multi-layering, to name a few). Meeting these strict requirements can be challenging when using traditional molding processes such as rotational molding, thermoforming, blow molding, or injection molding.

【摘要】 Bailey Specialty Cranes and Aerials has launched its Solar Trax 824, a solar panel installation robot. Drawing from the US company's experience with custom-designed lifting equipment, Solar Trax is the result of a several year effort. The patent for the technology is still pending. The company has a history of developing assembly products such as aircraft assembly robots for Boeing, spacecraft clean-room machines for Northrop Grumman, and explosion-proof lifts used by the United States Air Force.

【摘要】 Programming and controlling multiple brands and types of robots can be daunting. ROBOT APPLICATIONS AND implementations continue to become simpler, despite the explosion of growth. The robot-manufacturer market consists of more than 500 companies, which make conventional industrial robots and cobots; automated guided vehicles (AGVs) for transporting large and small loads in logistics or assembly lines; stationary medical and agricultural applications; and mobile cleaning, construction and underwater activities, according to Boston Consulting Group's "Robotics Outlook 2030: How Intelligence and Mobility Will Shape the Future," released in 2021. More than half a million robots were installed that same year, according to the International Federation of Robotics' (IFR) World Robotics Report 2022. The bulk of those came from a handful of companies, including ABB, Fanuc, Yaskawa, Kuka, Mitsubishi, Kawasaki, Nachi, Denso, Epson, Staubli, Comau, Omron, Universal Robots and Foxconn.
