【摘要】 We are dedicated to developing user-friendly, flexible and safe robots to help companies increase the efficiency of their operations. Our autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) give a rapid return on investment, often with a payback period of under a year. These unique, collaborative robots are now used by manufacturers in a wide range of industries and healthcare sectors to automate their in-house transportation.

【作者】 Stewart Robinson

【摘要】 Stewart Robinson discusses the steps that need to be taken to ensure safe and reliable robotic solutions for industrial applications. Industry is integrating increasing numbers of robots factory-wide, with ever more manufacturing and logistics processes now being fully automated. Human-robot collaboration is also expanding.

【摘要】 The aging population is increasingly bringing to the fore the requirements of assistive technologies in our health care systems and in the home environment. In addition, medical conditions that lead to motor and sensory impairments also necessitate technologies to rehabilitate patients back to mobility. Indeed, several devices and robots have been developed to address these challenges. However, a plethora of these technologies are burdensome to operate by the users, largely because they were designed without the involvement of the target population. Ultimately, the rate of abandonment of such devices has been high because of poor usability related to high metabolic cost, discomfort, and lack of sensory feedback. As roboticists and engineers, we should consider not only simply technological facets but also human aspects of research (1). This could be accomplished by truly integrating the user with the device to achieve embodiment and by addressing real-world impediments experienced by people with physical disabilities.
